I came across your blog 3 days ago. And I've sort of pictured what you've got going on. My name is 7ala, and I'm a freshman. I'm a scientific stream student who got 96.4% in Tawjihi yet decided to go for English Language & Literature. Despite all the commotion it caused, I'm quite determined to major in English.
Now the thing is, I've already started university at The American University of Sharjah. I've been here for a week now, but I also got a seat at The University of Jordan. As much as I love Jordan, it is my home country and all, but I visited the campus of The University of Jordan and couldn't feel connected to it in ANY possible way. I couldn't even draw comparision between The American University here in the UAE and the JU back home. I felt that the moment I lay foot into the JU, all the motivation I have will dissapear. I've seen it happen before. I've always been a hard-working student. I love extra-curricular activities and I don't want to "an6afes" in a place that won't do me any good except that it's my home country.
Let me tell you though, my mom is living in Jordan along with my siblings, and I'm here with dad and my brother who's studying here. It has been rather hard living with them (you know how men are), and since I got the seat in The University of Jordan, I've decided to go back home. I was hesitant until I saw your blog.
I saw what YOU have done Taqwa, everything you posted about.. this is what I want. I want to have chances to do what you're doing, meeting different people, studying different language.. You're actually leaving to Granada Mashallah! Even though I don't know you, I was extremely happy to learn so! I myself have always wanted to visit Granada (my cousins are from there) and the chances you have been offered are rather tempting.
Please tell me, what is your exact major? What year are you? I'd love to know more about you.
